Prescot Swimming Club was awarded the Sports Achievement Award 2013 at the recent KHT Community Awards. The award was presented to two founding members Julie and John Doddridge at a celebration dinner and recognises the outstanding achievement of Prescot SC in the community. Prescot SC were seen as an inspiration to the community in the way they welcome and encourage all members and aim the help each individual achieve their best.
Taking youngsters from the local community and helping them become the best swimmer they can, the club is run entirely by local volunteers who dedicate hours of their time every week. Each individual is helped on their way to becoming the best swimmer they can, whilst also helping youngsters develop into valuable members of the community. Each individual becomes a highly competent swimmer and most go on to compete at very high levels.
This year Prescot SC has seen achievement and celebrates success from all members. Some have progressed through the ability levels as they become swimmers, and others have gone all the way to up competing at County, Regional, National levels and for Team GB at the European Junior Championships. Prescot SC would like to congratulate the members, their families and the volunteers who make the Club such a fantastic place.
