The first round of the 2017-18 Merseyside & District Gala took place at the Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park on Sunday 17th September.
Final Score: Halton 194 points, Everton SA (161), Garston (155), Prescot (150), Liverpool Penguin (137).
Next round is on the 8th October.
After 2 days of racing and gaining a bunch of medals several of Prescot's younger swimmers made the top 3 in the FINA point competitions.
Lucy Parsons was top 10 year old girl closely followed by Grace Rhead in 2nd place. Chris Bellard 2nd 11 year old boy overall and Zach Roberts the bronze for the 9 year old boys. Congratulations to them and all of the other Prescot medallists.
| Prescot's Junior team were up early for the coach to
Blackpool for the Micro League Division B swim off final. Too early as
it turned out as we arrived with 2 hours to spare! The wait did not
seem to affect the younger swimmers in the racing however as they came
out on top ensuring a Division B place is ours next year.

Prescot were drawn in the 2nd gala for the first round of the Echo Cup for 2017. For the first time in living memory we came out on top of several of our nearest and dearest rivals in a junior competition and have more or less guaranteed a good draw for the final even before Round 2 has taken place.
Final Score: 1st Prescot 214 points, 2nd Everton (210), 3rd Hoylake (193), 4th Crosby (173), 5th Garston (130), 6th Formby (85)
| For probably the first time ever three of our swimmers qualified for the English National Championships. Daniel Clark finished in 5th in the 50m Backstroke final, Joseph Burns made the 50m Freestyle final and last but certainly not least Charlotte Dodson who got 3rd place and the bronze medal in the 200m Butterfly |

Knowsley the week after the Club Championships for the Southport Sprint
Finale meet.
Several of our swimmers medalled including a bronze for the 12 & under medley team and Zach Roberts in his 1st gala. |
