City of Sheffield Premier Meet, 24-26 March 2017

Several of Prescot's more senior swimmers (those too old for micro league - see below) took the M62 over to Sheffield for the City of Sheffield Premier meet.

Micro League, Blackpool, 26 March 2017

Prescot's younger swimmers took the bus up the M6 to Blackpool for the second Micro League gala of the season. The 12 year old relay teams got the gala off to a great start and the rest of the team followed on.

Individual wins were recorded by: Ava Gibson, Zach Roberts (2), Rebecca Parkinson, Sam Rawnsley, Erica Cunningham, Grace Rhead (2), Lucy Parsons (2), Zach Daly, Katie Rawnsley, John Humble, Dylan Loughran, Jess Waring and Ella Roberts.

Final score: Prescot 159 points, Garstang (118), Clitheroe (108), Preston (98)

The win moves Prescot into pole position in Division C and the team are looking forward to the next gala on the 14th May.

Prescot & Everton Spring Meet, 11-12 March 2017

The Prescot & Everton Meet is now firmly established as one of the popular events in the area with a record number of entries over the weekend at Knowsley Leisure Centre.

As usual, Southport had a plethora of entrants and successes with Callum Rollin, Flynn Smith and Robbie Bishop leading the boys and Isabella Evans, Olivia Boland and Zara Boland top scoring for the girls.

Hosts, Everton, had Daisy Cornell, Aimee White and Freya Boardman in excellent form and they had good support from Jacob Casey and Connor O’Boyle.

For co-hosts, Prescot Lucy Parsons led the way with three golds and seven silvers along with Charlotte Clark who picked up three golds and a bronze. Neil Wylie also picked up three golds with Christopher Bellard claiming two golds and a silver.

Elise Bruns was the outstanding performer for the City of Liverpool with five golds, two silvers and a bronze, with Georgia Bell picking up four golds and a silver. Alex Thompson was another to pick up three golds to which he added three silvers and a bronze.

Anna Duncan and Emily Dobbing along with Alex Jump ensured Bebington got amongst the medals with Emilia Hunt and Eva Knox doing likewise for Bootle.

Chloe Quarton, Maisie Stevens and Toby McLoughlin were the pick of the Crosby swimmers whilst Joshua Morrison led the Liverpool Penguin successes.

For Halton, Sophie Buckley continued her good form coming home with four golds a silver and a bronze with Ben Clayton picking up four golds and two silvers

Micro League, Clitheroe, 5 March 2017

The 2017 Micro League campaign started off with a trip to Stonyhurst College, near Clitheroe. The leagues have been re-organised making 4 divisions which meant that the first round of Division C actually consisted of the 4 teams that contested the Division B swim-off in September.

The squad performed well, some of who were swimming their first competitive gala representing the club. Prescot and a strong Clitheroe team challenged for the lead throughout with the positions changing hands several times throughout the gala. In the end a raft of disqualifications in the relays put paid to our chances and Clitheroe ended up 5 points to the good.
