Emma Farrugia wrote to Aqua Zone (the ASA's magazine for all
competition-registered swimmers under 17) to say how great Prescot Swimming
Club was. Her letter is published on p10 of December's copy of Aqua Zone. We think Emma is pretty great too - for taking the trouble to tell everyone else all about us. |

More records broken and we managed to finish on time.

Full Club Championship details
A busy start to the club championships, more swimmers than ever, a few records broken and yes we overran (sorry!). We are not announcing the results until the Presentation Evening (get your tickets if you have not already done so) but the times have been loaded into Prescot Best (216 PBs so far!).
Next week the small pool races have been moved forward - so the children should not have to hang around for so long
After a hard Round One Prescot travelled to Leigh Sports Village knowing that only a cracking performance would see them navigate safely away from the relegation swim-off final gala.
And what a performance it was, 2nd place with 203 points sending us shooting up the League table and safely into the middle final.
Captain Alex Dunk led from the front winning his 3 individual events and there were also wins for Finley Hampson, Elizabeth Hurst, Neil Wylie (2) plus the Boys 13&u Medley Relay tem of Daniel Clark, Finley Hampson, Neil Wylie and Daniel Johnson (by a country mile!), the 13&u boys again in the Freestyle relay and the 15&u Girls Medley relay team of Elizabeth Hurst, Jessica Hardman, Alice Harrison and Emily Lowrie.
All of the swimmers swam out of their skins and got 33 PBs during the gala.
Final result: Carnforth Otters 231 points, Prescot 203, Horwich LC 185, Preston "B" 171, Hoylake 163, Blackburn Centurians 97

Last Saturday and the Arena team were off to the Lake District!
We knew it was going to be a tough gala with 2 teams having come down from the Premier League (Ulverston and Carnforth), the team who won Division 2 last year, Burnley Bobcats and local rivals Everton and Garston.
They all swam well and although there were no relay victories this time but Alex Dunk (2), Finley Hampson, Matthew Lamb and Neil Wylie won individual races for Prescot.
Prescot swimmers managed 27 PBs during the meet.
Final result: Ulverston 209 points, Carnforth Otters 194, Burnley Bobcats 191, Everton 169, Prescot 154, Garston 129.
The draw appears to be more favourable next time so we will be looking to move up the table.
Fourteen intrepid Prescot swimmers remembered over breakfast not to head for Parr and Squad training but instead go to Birkenhead to compete in Wirral Metro's October Meet.

The girl's events were a lot more populated than the boys and thus, despite nearly all of them doing PB medals were hard to get hold of.
Still a promising start to the season with many of them gaining or improving on qualifying times for the Lancashire championships later in the year.
