Prescot gain promotion to Division 1 of the National Arena Swimming League (North West) |

TWO young swimmers are celebrating after a fantastic weekend in the North West Championships at the Manchester Aquatic Centre.
Simon Williams, aged 16, and Alex Dunk, aged 15, who are members of St Helens High Performance Swim Squad and Prescot Swimming Club, both recorded six personal best times from their six swims.
Dunk won the gold medal in the 800m freestyle, with Williams finishing fourth, on Saturday.
The next day, Dunk knocked more than a minute off his previous best in the 1500m freestyle to come second while Williams knocked almost half a minute off his previous best to touch home fifth
Both swimmers smashed their previous records in the 200m freestyle, with Dunk going below two minutes.
In the 50m freestyle Dunk broke the 25-second barrier, while in the 100m butterfly Williams went below 1min 5secs.
Next up is the prestigious City Of Sheffield Meet in December, followed by the district and county championships in early 2011.
